Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome
Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (SDS) is a rare genetic disorder. It affects many organs in the body but the effects are variable; different people have different symptoms. On the basis of current knowledge, all people with SDS appear to have a pancreatic defect and hematologic abnormalities. Many have skeletal abnormalities and short stature. Sean and Danny
Sean and Danny both have Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome. Sean (glasses) is 10 in this picture and Danny is almost 3. Danny had a bone marrow transplant in October of 2006.
