Inspirations For Along The Way:
"If you are not living in deep joy, you are not having what God wants youto have.  If you have half-full joy, you do not have what God wants youto have.  Your joy is to be full.  God wants your joy to be full.  Ifyour body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus is livingwithin you, it doesn't make any difference what is around you.  IfChrist is filling your heart, circumstances will not amount to a thing. He is the God of joy and fills us with the spirit of joy." - Donald GreyBarnhouse, DECISION, July 1997
"I am responsible. Although I may not be able to prevent the worst from
happening, I am responsible for my attitude toward the inevitable
misfortunes that darken life. Bad  things do happen; how I respond to them
defines my character and the quality of my life.  I can choose to sit in
perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose
to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have - life
itself."  - Walter Anderson

"And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: "Give me a light.
that I may tread safely into the unknown." And he replied: "Go out into the
darkness and put your hand into the hand of God.  That shall be to you
better than light, and safer than a known way." - Minnie L. Haskins
"Whatever you do, do it so well that people looking on will feel that the

task was reserved especially for you by God Himself."

 - Dr. Benjamin Mays

One Thing to Never Forget   Your presence is a present to the world. You're unique and one of a kind.Your life can be what you want it to be.Take the days just one at a time.   Count your blessings, not your troubles. You'll make it through whatever comes along.Within you are so many answers.Understand, have courage, be strong.   Don't put limits on yourself. So many dreams are waiting to be realized.Decisions are too important to leave to chance.Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.   Nothing wastes more energy than worrying. The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.Don't take things too seriously.Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.   Remember that a little love goes a long way.Remember that a lot . . . goes forever.Remember that friendship is a wise investment.Life's treasures are people . . . together.   Realize that it's never too late.Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.Have health and hope and happiness.Take the time to wish upon a star.   And don't ever forget . . .For even a day.

How very special you are.

EXPLAINING GOD
- written by Danny Dutton, age 8, from Chula Vista, California, for
his third grade homework assignment to "Explain God"

"One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace
the ones that die so there will be enough people to take care of
things here on earth. He doesn't make grown-ups, just babies. I think
because they are smaller and easier to make. That way, He doesn't have
to take up His valuable time teaching them to talk and walk, He can
just leave that to mothers and fathers.

God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful
lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things,
pray at  times besides bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the
radio or TV on account of this. Since He hears everything, not only
prayers,  there must be a terrible lot of noise in His ears, unless He
has thought of a way to turn it off.

God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere, which
keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting His time by going
over your parent's head asking for something they said you couldn't
have.

Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there
are any in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our
church.

Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work like walking on
water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who
didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of Him
preaching to them and they crucified Him. But He was good and kind
like His Father and He told His Father that they didn't know what they
were doing and to  forgive them and God said OK. His Dad (God)
appreciated everything that He had done and all His hard work on earth
so He told Him He didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could
stay in heaven. So He did.  And now He helps His Dad out by listening
to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care
of and which ones He can take care of Himself without having to bother
God. Like a secretary, only more  important, of course. You can pray
anytime you want and they are sure to hear you because they got it
worked out so one of them is on duty all t he time.

You should always go to Church on Sunday because it makes God happy,
and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God. Don't skip
church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the
beach. This is wrong! And, besides, the sun doesn't come out at the
beach until noon anyway.

If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be
very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like
to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're
scared in the dark or when you can't swim very good and you get thrown
into real deep water by big kids. But you shouldn't just always think
of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and He can take
me back anytime He pleases. And that's why I believe in God."

Humor:
A young boy, about eight years old, was at the corner "Mom & Pop" grocery
picking out a pretty good size box of laundry detergent.  The grocer walked
over, and, trying to be friendly, asked the boy if he had a lot of laundry to
 do.

"Oh, no laundry," the boy said, "I'm going to wash my dog."

"But you shouldn't use this to wash your dog.  It's very powerful and if you
wash your dog in this, he'll get sick.  In fact, it might even kill him."

But the boy was not to be stopped and carried the detergent to the counter
and paid for it, even as the grocer still tried to talk him out of washing
 his dog.

About a week later the boy was back in the store to buy some candy.  The
grocer asked the boy how his dog was doing.

"Oh, he died," the  boy said.

The grocer, trying not to be an I-told-you-so, said he was sorry the dog died
but added, "I tried to tell you not to use that detergent on your dog."

"Well, the boy replied, "I don't think it was the detergent that killed him."

 "Oh?  What was it then?"

"I think it was the spin cycle!"
