Mom,
Never in my mind did I ever think it was going to be this hard to
say goodbye.
I have so many fun memories that I will never forget, yet there are
so many things ahead of us that should be included in those memories.
I look back at all of the field trips and out of town band trips
that you chaperoned, and you were never a dreaded chaperone--you
were looked at as a mom to all of us.
When Keith and I were in High School Rodeo, you were there every
step of the way. I remember when I was barrel racing how you would
always be there to cheer me on, and of course critique my run.
I don't know which one of us had more fun the year that I was the
faircourt queen. You loved helping out with everything, and I can't
even begin to imagine all of the hours we spent together just in
that summer alone.
I will never forget the look on your face the 1st time I tried on my
wedding dress. That look in your eyes was a mixed look of how proud
you were, but also of sadness that your little girl was growing up.
You would never hesitate to watch the kids when Eric and I had to go
on fire calls, and the kids were so used to the routine that when
the tones would go off they would get their shoes on and be ready to
go.
I know that you loved being a farmers wife. You never complained
about the 10:00 harvest dinners, helping to move equipment, or
spending the summer driving wheat truck. Between keeping up with
Keith and I, and keeping dad in line, you didn't have time for a
full time job.
I think dad is right--you were born to be a grandma. Zachary,
Tayler, Alysha, Kinsey, Joshua and Sabrina could tell that from the
minute they were born. The kids are so full of fond memories, I
wouldn't even know where to begin. Every second that you spent with
them was cherished.
Mom--you fought a good fight! I don't know if there is anyone out
there that could have or would have done as well as you. Even when
you were at the lowest of lows, you always said how you wouldn't
give up, and you never did.
The best part of all of this is knowing that you are now cancer free.
Please remember that we all love you, and we know that you are
watching over us.

Love,

Tania
